Britney SpearsBritney Spears' hopes of a reunion with her two young sons have been given a boost - she can now chat to them over the phone. Visitation rights were stripped from Spears at the beginning of January following a stand-off with police and paramedics after the singer refused to hand over youngest son Jayden James to her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Prior to that, Spears lost all custody of Jayden James and Sean Preston after failing to adhere to court-ordered medical tests. But, on Monday, the singer received official word that she'll be able to talk to her kids again.

Los Angeles Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled at a court hearing last week that the troubled star can have "telephonic contact" with her children, but added, "All prior orders remain in full force and effect." That order was made public on Monday.

Despite two attempts by Spears' lawyers to regain her visitation rights, Spears cannot see her kids indefinitely, the judge has ruled.
