Super Bowl Inspires Tom Petty To Tour Again
The group, who will perform during the Super Bowl half-time show in Arizona on February 3, have just announced a 38-date North American tour with former Traffic star Steve Winwood as a special guest.
The tour will start in Michigan at the end of May and run until the end of August.
The news will be a surprise for many Petty fans, who thought they were seeing the rocker and his band for the last time when they toured in 2006.
Prior to that tour, Petty told Rolling Stone magazine his touring days were numbered. He said, "I think we should do this tour and then put an end to doing national tours, and just play now and then where we want to play. The idea of doing sheds or arenas... you turn into an animal by the time it's done."
