Missing Scott Weiland Poses Questions About Velvet Revolver

Scott WeilandThe future of rock supergroup Velvet Revolver hangs in the balance after frontman Scott Weiland failed to show for a club gig at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

Bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum were forced to fill in for Weiland when he missed the January 20 gig.

And when McKagan was asked about the singer's absence, he joked, "Why wasn't Scott there? Scott missed his plane. Yeah, let's say that - Scott missed his plane."

The concert no-show came just a day after Weiland told fans at a solo show in Florida that he was hoping to reunite with his old band Stone Temple Pilots.

Former Guns N' Roses star McKagan, who took over singing duties on the tracks "It's So Easy" and The Stooges cover "I Wanna Be Your Dog," admits he wouldn't blame Weiland for reuniting STP.

He adds, "Good for him."
