Portishead and The Verve are to give this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in the California desert a British flavor after confirming headlining slots.

The two groups join The Raconteurs, Jack Johnson, The Breeders and Rilo Kiley among the early confirmations for the three-day festival in April.

Portishead's performance will be the group's first U.S. show in almost a decade, while the reformed The Verve's appearance will be their first in America since The Drugs Don't Work hit makers split in 1999.
