Troubled singer Britney Spears has fired her latest assistant, according to reports. The woman, known only as Carla, has been a constant presence at Spears' side throughout recent weeks, but has now reportedly been fired by the Toxic hit-maker after being accused of talking to the press.

Carla - Spears' one time housekeeper - is said to have been fired by Spears' companion/manager Sam Lutfi, who suspected she was revealing intimate details of the star's life to the media.

A source tells an unknown celebrity blogger, "Carla used to be Britney's maid. One day, Britney just decided on a whim that Carla should be her assistant."

Another of Spears' assistants, Kalie Machado, sold her story to a U.S. magazine last year revealing her insight into Spears' life around the time of her famed head-shaving incident in February 2007.
