Mobb DeepMobb Deep star Prodigy's jail sentence has been postponed - after he was rushed to a hospital. The rapper - real name Albert Johnson - was admitted to an emergency room in New York on Tuesday just as he was due to be starting his three-and-a-half year jail term for gun possession offenses.

Johnson - who was discharged later that night - was reported to have been suffering from complications from sickle cell anemia, according to AllHiphop.com.

The 33-year-old was arrested in October 2006 and pleaded guilty to illegal firearm charges after police found an unlicensed .22-caliber pistol in his car.

Johnson now has 30 days before he is required to turn himself in to authorities to begin his prison sentence.
