'One Tree Hill:' Four Years Later
After a thrilling One Tree Hill season finale in June, millions of fans were left wondering what nail-biting situations the producers would shed light on in season five. Finally, everyone's prayers were answered. For the past several months, the CW website did not leave "One Tree Hill" fans in the dark. The website features several updates on the show's progress entitled One Tree Hill: Fast Forward. Simply by clicking on each episode, fans can find out what each character is up to four years post high school graduation. Here's a recap of what to expect on January 8:
Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush)
Flirtatious cheerleader and former student council president Brooke Davis sure left her mark at Tree Hill High School. Four years later, she's leaving her mark in the fashion industry. Head of a successful clothing line, Clothes Over Bros, Brooke's eyes are opened to new realities very different from those drama-filled days prevalent in North Carolina. Finally reaching new levels and achieving everything she dreamed of, Brooke faces a difficult battle with loneliness. According to Bush on the CW website, "I think it's easy for people to assume that fame is equal to glory, but it can be a very isolating experience." With success in her hands, how will that influence Brooke's outlook on life and her friends from Tree Hill?
Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray)
As season four winded down, fans witnessed Lucas Scott finally bring home a basketball championship to the Tree Hill community. Years later, Lucas' resume includes a published novel and a coaching job for the Ravens basketball team. Unfortunately, Lucas finds himself fighting a rough battle with "writer's block." One particular silver lining in Lucas' life is his devotion to being an excellent uncle to his nephew, Jamie Scott. As season five unfolds, viewers can look forward to watching Lucas take on more Keith-like qualities in appearance and family values. Will Lucas' aspirations as a writer take a backseat to his coaching job? What will his relationship with Peyton (Hilarie Burton) entail?
Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton) Peyton Sawyer, the blonde punk-rocker, chose to accept a music internship in Los Angeles. Her motive? To discover bands that could change people's lives the way several did for her. With her naïve outlook on the music industry coupled with the pressures of fitting in, Peyton finds herself dealing with the struggles of a typical business mentality. How will being on her own and confronting the everyday challenges affect Peyton's integrity and beliefs? Will she stick with her internship or move back to where she's most comfortable?
Marvin "Mouth" McFadden (Lee Norris)
After graduation, Mouth followed his passion in sports broadcasting and attended college. His current job at a local station presents challenges focused on an appearance-based career. Mouth strives to learn all he can in order to prove he is able to perform at higher levels. Aside from work, Mouth resides with several friends and represents the typical student living the college lifestyle. How will Mouth handle the pressure of sports broadcasting? Will he finally be able to reach his dream of becoming an on-air reporter?
The Scott Family
The introduction of Jamie Scott, Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) and Nathan's (James Lafferty) son, brings a new element to the show. Nathan now realizes he needs to transition from Nathan Scott the basketball star to Nathan Scott the father and role model. Haley lands a teaching job and finds that working and raising a family requires hard work and dedication. This season brings happiness and heartache as Tree Hill's most romantic couple encounters hardships along the way. Can Haley and Nathan resist the outside pressures and stay united as a family?
Only time will tell what will happen with the Tree Hill bunch. Don't miss out on the two-hour season premiere Tuesday, January 8. And stay tuned for a review of the new faces on season five of "One Tree Hill."
