R&B superstar Mariah Carey would love a voice machine like British scientist Stephen Hawking - to give her wrists a rest. The Hero hitmaker is forced to communicate though notes when resting her voice ahead of a concert.
But she believes a Hawking-style voice synthesizer is the answer to her troubles.
She explains, "Before a big show I'm not allowed to speak for two days. It's boring writing notes. I need Stephen Hawking's voice machine so I think and it comes out in a robot voice."
Hawking has used the synthesizer since being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
