Celebrity Spotlight: Jared Padalecki
Padalecki's road to fame began when in 1999 when he won a contest - that was held and sponsored by the "Teen Choice Awards" - at the local Planet Hollywood. The grand prize was a trip to Los Angeles to present awards and escort celebrity winners offstage at Fox's "Teen Choice Awards." A talent agent told Jared to look him up when he wanted to start an acting career.
After winning the contest and appearing on the award show, Jared went back to school in Texas. During his senior year at James Madison High School, he was named a candidate for the 2000 Presidential Scholars Program. However, upon finishing high school he packed his bags and moved to L.A. to look up the talent agent and pursue his acting career.

After his stint on "Gilmore Girls," Padalecki landed roles in several movies. His movie debut was the 2001 film "A Ring of Endless Light." He also starred in "Flight Of The Phoenix," "Cheaper By The Dozen," "New York Minute," and "House Of Wax" with "One Tree Hill" star Chad Michael Murray - who also appeared on "Gilmore Girls." On his most recent film, "Cry Wolf," Jared met his current girlfriend Sandra McCoy.
Currently you can see Padalecki alongside Jensen Ackles in the hit CW series "Supernatural" where he plays Sam Winchester.
