Kasabian star Tom Meighan has taken his Star Wars obsession to new extremes - by paying out $16,000 on replica models of loveable robots R2-D2 and C-3PO. The Empire singer enlisted the talents of a model maker to reproduce George Lucas' bickering cyborgs for his growing collection of movie memorabilia.
Meighan's Leicester, England flat is already home to a $20,000 BMX bicycle that E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial character Elliott famously rode across the glow of the moon in the hit 1982 movie.
A pal says of his latest double purchases, "They now have pride of place in his flat, which is full of cool stuff from cult movies. E.T. and Star Wars, along with Superman, are his favorite films."
