Denzel Washington was left doubled up in pain on the set of his directorial debut in 2002 because he couldn't cope with the stress. The Oscar winner realized he was in over his head during the first week of shooting Antwone Fisher - and had to call for medical help.

He recalls, "The fear of the unknown is paralyzing. I mean I had to go to a chiropractor about a week out because I was freaking out. I sat down with the cinematographer... and said, 'Where do we put the camera?' and he said, 'Well, I dunno.'"
