Rocker Courtney Love is "devastated" after a pair of $100,000 pink diamond earrings was stolen from her New York hotel room on Wednesday. The former Hole singer, 43, was staying at the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel with her 15-year-old daughter Frances Bean when they were targeted by thieves.

A source told a celebrity blogger, "Courtney is devastated. She had brought the earrings for Frances as her Christmas present. Frances hadn't even tried them on yet."

But hours after New York police launched an investigation into the incident on Thursday morning , the pink diamond and yellow drop earrings were mysteriously returned to the hotel.
