The sister of rocker Michael Hutchence
has blasted the late INXS
star's love rival, Bob Geldof
, in a fiery Christmas internet message. Tina Hutchence takes aim at Geldof's plans to legally adopt her niece Tiger Lily - the product of her brother's romance with the Irish star's ex-wife Paula Yates.
Hutchence accidentally hanged himself in a Sydney hotel room in 1997 and Yates overdosed three years later. Geldof has been Tiger Lily's legal guardian ever since.
In a lengthy missive on her late brother's website, Tina reveals "there has been a terrific uproar from family, friends and fans" over Geldof's plans to adopt the 11-year-old.
The former Boomtown Rats
frontman informed the Hutchences of his intentions through his lawyers last month.
Despite her bitter comments, Tina insists the family won't challenge Geldof's plans, insisting, "There is little chance of us ever getting a fair chance in a British court against Bob."
