Soccer star David Beckham was pulled over by British police officers - because they thought he was a car thief.

The LA Galaxy star was driving through Epping, Essex in his Range Rover on Wednesday when the police flagged him down. An eye-witness tells British newspaper the Sun, "Becks pulled into a hotel. The window came down and in 15 seconds he was gone."

Essex Police confirmed they checked ownership of the car.
