Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Charisma Carpenter is "too poor" to pay for her divorce from ex-husband Damien Hardy. The 37-year-old actress married Hardy in October 2002 and the couple became parents to son Donovan Charles, now four, the following March, before announcing plans to divorce last month.

Now Carpenter is claiming the ongoing Hollywood writers strike has left her unemployed - and as a result, she's pleaded the Los Angeles Supreme Court to make hotel worker Hardy pay her legal bills.

She says, "At the present time, my husband has the ability to work full-time and make more money than I am currently making. He should be paying my lawyers' (fees)."
