Daniel Baldwin's Arrest Warrant Nixed

December 17th, 2007 3:28pm EST  Post a comment

Daniel BaldwinDaniel Baldwin has had a warrant for his arrest scrapped after a judge accepted his no-show at a court earlier this month was the result of a mix-up.

The 47-year-old star was expected to appear at Los Angeles County Superior Court on December 7 to discuss his probation progress after he was found guilty of having a cocaine ingesting device on his person last year. He was also charged with being under the influence.

But when Baldwin failed to turn up for the court date, a no bail bench warrant was issued for his arrest. The actor has since blamed his missed court appearance on "a miscommunication".

Appearing before L.A. County Superior Court Judge Nancy L. Newman on Monday, Baldwin told the court: "I didn't know I was supposed to call the court myself. I plead ignorance."

Baldwin was granted his freedom after Judge Newman ordered the cancellation of the warrant on the condition that he re-enroll in a court-ordered drug program, reports TMZ.com.
