Will Smith's actor son Jaden is to revive the Karate Kid franchise two months after the Men In Black star's publicists denied reports. The young Pursuit Of Happyness star is in talks with film executives about the role.

His proud father confirms, "I met with a couple of people in China. We're looking to potentially shoot in China."

The original Karate Kid films, starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, became cult family viewing in the mid-to-late 1980s. Oscar winner Hilary Swank starred in a fourth film, The Next Karate Kid in 1994.
