Lions For Lambs star Andrew Garfield has been named as one of the European Film Promotion (EFP)'s Shooting Stars of 2008. The 24-year-old Brit has been selected for his performance in 2007's Boy A - which the panel of judges called "emotionally devastating" with "unexpected charm".
Garfield is one of nine actors from across the continent to receive the accolade - other recipients include Germany's Hannah Herzsprung (10 Sekunden, Four Minutes), France's Nicolas Cazale (The Grocer's Son, The Great Journey),
Italy's Elio Germano (My Brother Is An Only Child, No Quality to Heroes), and Romania's Anamaria Marinca (4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days).
The Shooting Stars of 2008, voted for by members of the EFP, will be feted at the Berlin International Film Festival in February.
Previous recipients of the award - which aims to award future film stars - include Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz.
