CSILegendary director William Friedkin is following in the footsteps of Quentin Tarantino - he's directed an episode of hit TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Friedkin, best known for filming '70s movie classics The French Connection and The Exorcist, stepped behind the camera to shoot new CSI episode Cockroaches, which aired on CBS last night.

And, working on the show, allowed Friedkin to reunite with CSI actor William Petersen, who starred in his 1985 movie To Live And Die In LA.

Petersen says, "I have a movie career because of him. He's the first guy I ever learned from, in terms of film."

Tarantino directed two episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2005.
