Frank SinatraFrank Sinatra is to be honored posthumously with his own postage stamp to mark the 10th anniversary of his death. The artwork featuring the Rat Pack star, who died aged 83 in 1998, will be unveiled at a ceremony in Beverly Hills, California, next Wednesday - on what would have been the singer's 92nd birthday.

The stamp will come into circulation in spring 2008.

Paying tribute to the Grammy-winner, U.S. Postmaster General, John Potter, says, "(He was) an extraordinary entertainer whose life and work left an indelible impression on American culture. His recordings, concert performances and film work place him among America's top artists, and his legendary gift for transforming popular song into art is a rare feat that few have been able to replicate."

This is the second time Sinatra has been recognized by U.S. postal services - the Hoboken Post Office in his native New Jersey was renamed in his honor in 2002.
