Nowadays Hollywood is known for its celebrity antics, such as who is going to rehab or jail or which celebrity couple is breaking up or getting divorced. The public enjoys reading celebrity gossip, and as much fun as that can be at times, it would be nice to focus on couples that are in strong, stable and loving marriages.

After Britney Spears' infamous 55-hour marriage to her childhood friend and Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney's marriage ending in the middle of the honeymoon because of "fraud," It's no surprise that many fans are a bit cynical when it comes to celebrity marriages.

There is hope, however. There are a lot of marriages that have lasted in Hollywood, and some are stronger than ever. Many celebrities have proven that their marriages have staying power and they won't be heading to divorce court.

It's safe to say that Denzel and Paulette Washington have one of the most enduring unions out of all celebrity couples. Staying in a celebrity marriage can be difficult, but these two have remained together for almost 25 years.

With all the fame, media, constant rumors and the public's need to know everything that is going on in a celebrity's life, it's not surprise that many celebrities have ended up filing for divorce.

Samuel L. Jackson, who's been married to actress LaTanya Richardson for 25 years, has said in various interviews that any marriage takes work. In a 2006 interview with Ebony Magazine he said, "People get angry with each other; people have issues. You either work through them or you just walk away from them or each other."

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are a huge Hollywood power couple who hardly appear in the tabloids. They both work hard to keep their marriage as strong as it is, and they support and trust each other 100 percent. Will Smith was even quoted as saying that he and Jada talk constantly because communication is the most important thing in a marriage.

Other long-lasting celebrity marriages include: Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, 24 years; Courteney Cox and David Arquette, seven years; and Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, 18 years.

The media and the public have a strange fascination with celebrities and the bad things that are going in on their lives - breakups, divorce, rehab, jail time, etc. Because let's face it, other peoples' misery, particularly when a celebrity is involved, makes us feel better about ourselves. But every so often it's nice to read that something good is going on in a star's life.
