Gary Oldman is to play multiple roles in a new 3-D re-imagining of classic festive morality tale "A Christmas Carol." Jim Carrey will play festive anti-hero Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghosts that haunt him in director Robert Zemeckis' latest animated project for Disney.
According to movie website MovieHole.net, Zemeckis will shoot the film using "performance capture/Disney digital 3-D" animation, a continuing evolution of techniques he introduced in hit 2004 Christmas hit Polar Express.
Cary Elwes will also play a part in the film, standing in for busy Carrey when the funnyman isn't available for tedious human-to-animation sessions.
