INXS Pay Tribute To Hutchence On 10-Year Anniversary Of His Death
And the singer's former bandmates plan to mark the anniversary on Thursday by "celebrating" Hutchence's life in private.
Writing on the band's website, drummer Jon Farriss says, "November 22, 1997 was a shocking, sad and tragic day as we, and the world, learned of the death of Michael Hutchence. But I, like many, choose not to focus on the death of Michael and instead prefer to celebrate his wonderful life. Michael will always be remembered as a young, vibrant, gifted and passionate person. Age will not weary him as it gradually does his bandmates."
And Farriss insists Hutchence's one true love was his daughter Tiger Lily, now 10, whom he had with late British TV star Paula Yates: "His love of music was clear, but there was one thing he cared more deeply for - his daughter."
Tiger Lily is now being raised by Yates' ex, Bob Geldof, following Yates' death from an accidental drug overdose in 2000.
