Ricky GervaisBritish comedian Ricky Gervais turned down the chance to work with celebrated director Woody Allen - because he is convinced the filmmaker has lost his ability to produce good movies. The creator of the U.K.'s hit TV comedy The Office was offered a part in one of Allen's recent productions, but Gervais pulled out when he saw who else the director had in mind for the film.

He says, "When I saw the rest of the cast - other British people on telly - I just pulled out of it. I thought: that's no fun. This is the Woody Allen who doesn't know. He thinks these people are all good because he likes the accent. Woody Allen isn't Woody Allen any more."
