Wes AndersonDirector Wes Anderson denies claims his new movie The Darjeeling Limited is racially offensive to Indian nationals. The filmmaker, 38, spoke out after U.S. film critic Jonah Weiner accused him of portraying the non-white characters in the film particularly shallowly.

Anderson says, "It's a harsh thing to be accused of, racism. It's hard not to be offended by that. I mean, this is a movie from the point of view of three American tourists, so their window is always going to be pretty narrow. But this notion that we are somehow using India as fodder, that's just so wrong. One does feel misunderstood."
