Cast Of 'ER' Raising Cash For Striking Writers

ERThe cast of medical drama ER are hoping to financially support their striking writers by staging a series of fundraising events. Show star John Stamos admits he and his castmates were impressed when writers worked around the clock to make sure they had three full episodes to shoot before Monday's strike started, and now the actors and actresses want to show their gratitude.

Stamos has already taken time out of his schedule to join the striking writers on the picket lines in Hollywood.

He says, "I support the writers and we're all in this together... We've got together with the cast and if it (strike) goes on, I think we're gonna work on raising some money for our people first that may lose their houses or their cars."

Stamos insists the strike could benefit the medical drama - because a break might make producers and writers think about making another season of the show.

He adds, "This could nudge another season out of ER. People have invested 14 years of their lives to this show and I feel they need a full season to end the show and wrap it up nice (and) bring back some characters."
