Don Henley: 'The Eagles Are Lucky To Be Alive'
The Eagles frontman Don Henley is thankful his band members are still alive - because the foursome were such hell raisers during their youth. Drummer Henley admits the reformed group - including singer Glenn Frey, guitarist Joe Walsh and bassist Timothy Schmit - led such typical rock 'n' roll lifestyles during their 1970s heyday, he was convinced their wild ways would catch up with them. He says, "The fact is we were a sort of binge and purge sort of band. In between benders, I remember jogging and going to the gym and taking vitamins. When you think about it we managed to achieve quite a lot given the shape we were in."
The veteran rockers originally disbanded in 1980, but reunited in 1993.
