Knight RiderAmerican actor Justin Bruening has signed up to step into David Hasselhoff's shoes as the star of the new Knight Rider film. The All My Children star, 28, will play the son of Michael Knight, the character made famous by Hasselfhoff in the cult 1980s show.

Last month, Hasselhoff was upset after failing to land a cameo in the two-hour adaptation - but insisted fans would "demand" he appear on the big screen.

He tells website Moviehole.net, "I think fans will demand that I at least pop up in a cameo. I made the show and fans deserve it."

The Knight Rider movie is slated for release next year.
