Rock legend Elvis Presley has overtaken Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain as the biggest earning dead celebrity. The Jailhouse Rock hit maker topped the Forbes magazine poll with earnings of $58 million during 2007. Cobain, who pushed Presley off the top spot last year after widow Courtney Love sold a portion of his recording catalogue, does not feature in the 2007 list.

Other late stars to feature include former Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison and slain rapper Tupac Shakur. Musician James Brown enters the list in 11th place after earning $5 million since dying last year.
