frontman Tom Chaplin blames the British media for his former drug addiction - because journalists criticized his weight.
The singer - who checked himself into London's Priory Clinic last year to battle alcohol and drug addictions - was hurt by "fat" jibes.
The 28-year-old says, "I took a lot of what was said to heart and it had a really, really bad effect on me as a person. It made me very insular and I just wanted to run away from things. At the end of the day, it was very hurtful. I've become immune to a lot of things and I've had to develop a thick skin. Becoming big changed everything. I found the comments other people made - particularly the personal ones - very very hard to take."
