Tom Cruise will cheer up his friend David Beckham by taking him out on some fast-paced, high-flying adventures - after the soccer superstar's team L.A. Galaxy failed to secure a spot in the Major League Soccer (MLS) play-offs on Sunday.

Disappointed Beckham had hoped for a better outcome in his first season in Los Angeles, and so Cruise has decided to treat his pal to some off-season shenanigans.

He says, "We will go out and fly some airplanes or race some cars or something like that."

Beckham's team came close. They needed a win on Sunday to help them secure a place in the play-offs, but they lost 1-0 to the Chicago Fire.
