SlashFormer Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash is convinced the band's first new album in 14 years will be released despite being long overdue. The release of the Chinese Democracy album has been put back indefinitely until renowned perfectionist Axl Rose finishes working on the new material.

Slash officially announced his departure from the group in 2006 after blazing rows with Rose over the musical direction Guns N' Roses was taking.

But the rocker is confident that the record will eventually hit the shelves.

He says, "It'll get done, and it'll come out when he feels comfortable with putting it out. And Axl works in a different time zone than I do. So what may seem like a long time to other people is a tick of the clock to him. It'll come out though. It will."
