Supernatural"The Magnificent Seven"

Talk about kicking things off with a bang. When I say bang, I'm referring to Jensen Ackles in a wife beater looking really hot.

Season three of "Supernatural" starts five days after the boys accidentally opened the Gate to Hell, and the demons were unleashed onto the world. Dean (Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) join Bobby (Jim Beaver) on a hunt to try get rid of all the demons. Don't forget Dean also has only one year to live after he sold his soul to save his brother, who was stabbed and killed in the first part of last season's finale.

First out of hell were the seven deadly sins, and all of the deaths were related to one of the sins. I have to point out that this storyline was very clever, and the writers deserve more credit then they get.

Katie CassidyKatie Cassidy joins the cast as Ruby. She knows who Sam is and has been following him. At this point, all we know is that she's a hunter, and I'm curious to see how her character pans out. Many fans tune in to see Jared and Jensen, so I hope the writers don't overwhelm us with all these extra characters.

Throughout the episode Sam tries to find a way to get Dean out of his deal, and by the end of the episode Dean finally reveals the full terms: if they try and get Dean out of it, Sam dies. The confrontation between them at the end was great; the interaction between Dean and Sam is the best part of the show. Some could say that Dean is being selfish, but I don't blame him. He loves Sammy, and he promised their dad before he died to look out for him. That's exactly what he's doing.

Episode 2 "The Kids Are Alright"

Is it possible? Is Dean a daddy? I can't say I'm surprised to hear that Dean could have a spawn of his own. In this packed episode Sam and Dean need to stop the changeling that is overtaking children and going after their parents. This episode has all the ingredients of a great show: humor, action, fear, and a clever storyline.

Dean decides to pay a visit to a one-night stand that he had eight years ago with a woman named Lisa. It turns out that Lisa has an 8-year-old named Ben who is a spitting image of Dean. The kid is an AC/DC fan and refers to girls as "chicks." Doesn't that just scream Dean? The best scenes in this entire episode were between Jensen and the little boy. I could not stop laughing at those two.

You see another side of Dean - a side where he wants to have a normal life and maybe settle down and have a child. He wants something other than his car to leave behind as a legacy. I have to admit his reaction to seeing Ben was hysterical. At the end Lisa admits that Ben is not Dean's son, though I wonder if he really is by the look on her face. Dean seemed a little disappointed, but it was nice seeing his sweeter side.

The biggest twist in the episode came at the end when Sam learned that Ruby is actually a demon who wants to help him. She wants to find out what exactly the demon did to Sam the night his mother died. In return she said she could help Dean get out of his deal. But what about Sam? Wouldn't that get him killed if they break the deal? I can't help but wonder what exactly her motive is and why a demon wants to help a demon hunter. I'm intrigued, that's for sure.
