Actresses Catherine Deneuve and Laura Linney are to be honored at next month's Los Angeles Film Festival. The pair were chosen because they "embody the raw promise of a fine performance", according to festival director Christian Gaines.

Linney's new movie The Savages will premiere at the event, which runs from November 1 to 11 - as well as the Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep movie, Lions For Lambs.
