Evan Handler has hit out at reports claiming his "chronic hiccupping" has disrupted filming on the Sex And The City movie - insisting there is little truth to the claims.

The 46-year-old star, who plays actress Kristin Davis' on-screen husband Harry Goldenblatt in the drama, was alleged to have admitted his problem has interfered with his latest project.

According to the New York Post's gossip column, PageSix, he said: "It's been going on for the past two years. Sometimes it goes on for two, three days straight. So it was happening a little while filming, yes. But I can get it under control. I go to a quiet corner and redirect my breathing and center myself."

But Handler claims the article was a huge exaggeration of the truth.

He tells TV show "Extra," "My hiccup thing is a scam! I had some hiccups the other day, but pretty much everything else in that article was invented."
