Chris RockFunnyman Chris Rock bitterly regrets not helping his older brother survive his battle with alcohol addiction, according to a family friend. Rock was left devastated after Charles Ledell Rock died following a long battle with alcoholism last year.

The 41-year-old fought in vain to save his brother from an early grave and even paid for rehabilitation treatment.

The friend tells The National Enquirer, "His drinking ruined his marriage. He'd come to family functions drunk.

"Chris stepped in and tried to help Charles by paying for him to go to an alcohol rehab residence. But Charles walked out of the residence and never came back."

According to the publication, Rock lives with the regret of not helping his brother.

The friend adds, "It was really sad. Chris sat around with his family, saying he wished he had done more. They all said they wished they had done more."
