Reformed criminal Danny Trejo got his first acting job after the director saw the tough guy scare the life out of Eric Roberts. The former convict and heroin addict, 63, was hired as a boxing instructor on 1985 film Runaway Train, but the director gave him his acting debut after he was impressed by Trejo's attitude towards the film's cast.

He says, "Eric was scared of me, so he would do whatever I told him. The director saw that, and so he hired me as The Boxer on 'Runaway Train.'"
