Danny DeVito once found himself lost at sea with Michael Douglas because his longterm friend convinced him he knew how to sail a catamaran. DeVito and Douglas had to be rescued by the coast guard during their ill-fated 1960s sailing expedition.

DeVito recalls, "Michael brought me to Connecticut once. He had some friends who said they had a catamaran. I didn't even know what a catamaran was. He said, 'Come on, let's get a couple of six-packs (of beer) and go out.' I figured he knew how to drive it.

"We went out into the water, drank the six-packs - we couldn't get back. And there were people out there sailing, using us as a buoy, going around us. We had to get rescued."
