Tommy Lee Not Quitting Motley Crue
Lee fell out with bandmates Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Mick Mars, when the trio accused his manager Carl Stubner of persuading the rocker to scrap Motley Crue tour dates to appear in two reality TV shows. They are currently suing Stubner for lost earnings.
On Wednesday, the drummer released a statement revealing he "recently informed Sixx and Mars, the shareholders of Motley Crue, Inc., that he was resigning from the band and his resignation was accepted."
But just a day later, Lee has issued a second statement, resolving to work out his differences with Sixx, Neil and Mars.
It reads, "I am a founding member of Motley Crue. I have tried to meet with my band-mates repeatedly without success but have informed them that I'm not walking away from my band of 25 years.
"It troubles me that the current legal issues which were filed by the corporations against my personal manager are separating us and causing more dysfunction. I hope we can work this out amongst ourselves."
