Kid Rock and Tommy Lee first fell out when the Motley Crue star started sending the rap/rocker disrespectful text messages from their ex-wife Pamela Anderson's BlackBerry.

The pair's feud reached a head on Sunday night when they brawled at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas, and Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, reveals the fight had been brewing for some time.

Rock snarls, "When me and Pam were going through our divorce he... starts e-mailing me how much of a bitch I am. I calmly told him... 'Listen, I will see you again.' I said, 'You know this has nothing to do with you.' And that was the end of it because I don't talk. He used her Blackberry. It just starts going off, like he's king."

Rock admits he was hoping Lee would eventually apologize, and when he found himself at the VMAs with the drummer, he decided to confront the rock star.

He adds, "I'm like, 'You've seen me plenty of times.' It's always something, it's always an excuse. And this would be a great opportunity for him to go, 'You know what, I did run my mouth, I'm going to be a man about it, take my lumps, and now I'm gonna shut up and it's over.' But I'm sure he's not that smart."
