The FixxA host of stars including Nick Harper and Squeeze's Glenn Tilbrook are teaming up to perform the first acoustic concert on Mount Everest.

The British musicians will be part of the 40-strong Everest Rocks expedition, which will conclude with a concert at the mountain's Base Camp, 18,000 feet above Nepal.

Stray Cats star Jim Phantom, The Fixx's Cy Curnin and Jamie West-Oram will also perform at the October 13 event, which will be available to download via website iTunes.

The trip and concert is being organized by The Alarm rocker Mike Peters and CSI Entertainment boss James Chippendale - the founders of cancer charity the Love Hope Strength Foundation. All money raised from download sales will go to cancer research via the foundation.
