David TennantProducers have been forced to delay the next season of Doctor Who until 2009, to allow its star to concentrate on other projects.

Leading man David Tennant has signed up to appear on stage as Hamlet in a new Royal Shakespeare Company production - a move which will see the actor unable to commit to his fifth Doctor Who season until 2009.

Tennant, 36, has played the Doctor since 2005 - but it's rumored he will leave the show after filming finishes on Season four, which is set to air next year.
