Country music superstar Garth Brooks
' comeback has been marred by another family controversy - his ex-wife's former fiance has been murdered. Brooks is planning to storm the charts again after announcing his retirement in 2001, but first he has to deal with the shock death of his former wife Sandy's ex-lover.
Michael Dubin was shot and killed in his home in Oklahoma on August 15 and Sandy, who dated him after splitting from Brooks in 2001, attended the dead man's funeral.
Police initially thought Dubin had shot himself but investigators have now named a former Tulsa sheriff as a person of interest in what has become a murder case.
Police have discovered Carl Akins was part of a plot to kidnap Dubin's girlfriend Debra Akins - the ex-sheriff's former wife.
This is the second time in two years Sandy's love life has embarrassed Brooks - another ex, Cornelius Harper, abducted the singer's former wife at gunpoint after she dumped him and kicked him out of her home in 2005.
He later threatened to release explicit videos allegedly featuring Sandy naked.
