Former Back To You star Kelsey Grammar gave up acting for two years to nurse his wife back to health after she almost died in Italy. The actor turned his back on a number of major career opportunities between 2004 and 2006 after his wife Camille was treated for a potentially-fatal gastrointestinal disorder.

He tells Parade magazine, "She nearly died. She picked up something while in Italy and was hospitalised for weeks. It was horrible. Camille was given last rites. I quit working for two years because she was so sick. But she is so much better now. Camille is everything to me."
