MySpace To Broadcast Projekt Revolution Concert Via MySpaceLive Today At 1:30pm
Record Breaking Six Hour Live Streamed Concert to Feature Main Stage Acts Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Placebo and Julien-KLos Angeles – MySpace, America's most trafficked Web site, today announced that the Projekt Revolution concert tour stop at the DTE Energy Music theater in Clarkston, Michigan will be streamed as a MySpace LIVE! event on August 22, 2007 starting at 1:30PM PST. As one of the official sponsors of the Projekt Revolution concert series, taking place this summer across the country, NowWhat will host the stream of the concert on its MySpace profile (http://myspace.com/nowwhat). The concert will feature artists including Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and others. Matt Pinfield, an MTV and music industry veteran, is slated to host the six-hour concert stream – the longest live stream in MySpace history.
MySpace LIVE!, a MySpace offering which brings select live events to the MySpace community via streaming online video, will give MySpace users watching at home the opportunity to submit real-time messages through an on-site message ticker. The streaming of this concert is the third in a series of MySpace LIVE! events, with previous online streamed concerts having featured DJ Paul Oakenfold and Grammy award winning rapper T.I.
In a MySpace LIVE! first, five fans at the Projekt Revolution concert, armed with cell phones, will take video footage of the concert which will be incorporated into the live stream on MySpace. The phones let anyone with a compatible cell phone stream live video from their phone to the internet with a press of a button. To ensure the highest quality audio is captured for MySpace members watching from home, digital audio workstations will be deployed throughout the venue. NowWhat.com will be on-site with an interactive booth where concert goers can get a free online photo, win great prizes, and pick up a net decoder card to enter in daily and grand prize sweepstakes held online. Concert goers can log on to NowWhat.com after the show to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the tour.
