Screen veteran Elizabeth Taylor has joined the race to play Sunset Boulevard diva Norma Desmond on the big screen. Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Barbra Streisand are all believed to be on a shortlist being considered by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who composed the music for his version of the 1950 film classic.
However 75-year-old Taylor is convinced she is perfect for the role of Desmond, played famously by Gloria Swanson. She says, "Sunset Boulevard is the kind of vehicle that could suit me now."
