Jamie Bell has not heard from his father since he walked out on the family following the actor's meteoritic rise to fame in hit British film Billy Elliott.

The young actor insists he wasn't phased by his father's disappearance from his life, because he was never really part of it.

He says, "It makes no real difference because he was never there. Never having it (support from father), you don't really miss it. (My mother) raised me and my sister herself. That was incredibly difficult."
