American actor Dick Van Patten will make his TV return on a reality show in September, 19 months after he suffered a stroke. The 78-year-old Eight Is Enough star was taken to a Los Angeles hospital in January 2006 after suffering a diabetic stroke.

But Van Patten, who suffers from Type 2 diabetes, has now announced he will appear in new U.S. celebrity courtroom show Jury Duty.

He says, "I really am feeling much, much better now."
