The Honorary Title To Tour With Cartel; Major Label Debut Due Aug. 28

August 14th, 2007 10:00pm EDT
The Honorary TitleThe Honorary Title is Jarrod Gorbel on lead vocals and guitar, Aaron Kamstra on bass and keyboards, Jon Wiley on guitar, and Adam Boyd on drums.

Based in Brooklyn, the band started in 2003 with Gorbel and Kamstra playing gigs on the New York City club circuit. In 2004 the group released their full-length debut Anything Else but the Truth. On the heels of this critically-acclaimed, Shortlist-nominated album, the group recruited Wiley and Boyd, and The Honorary Title began to tour nationally with such diverse groups as Switchfoot, Taking Back Sunday and AC Newman.

The Honorary Title will be joining Cartel as the main support on a two-month jaunt through the U.S. and Canada — beginning August 20 in Chicago, and featuring dates in both Los Angeles and New York. The band is touring in support of the much anticipated full-length album, and major label debut, Scream and Light Up the Sky, which will be released on Reprise Records on August 28th.

Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith and Beck), Scream and Light Up the Sky is already receiving an enthusiastic reception with Alternative Press giving the record four out of five stars. "Playing with a full band, Gorbel's distinct, powerfully emotional vocals have never sounded fuller than on Scream and Light Up The Sky," says AP.
