Ashton Kutcher has been shocking New York residents, by carrying out handyman work on their homes. The actor is shadowing a real life worker to research for a forthcoming movie role.

A source tells the New York Daily News, "The client was shocked that a celebrity was installing his closet. But he was such a great guy. Just a decent, normal guy."

"People recognized him when he was out. One gentleman was sitting in traffic when he saw Ashton. He left his car idling, raced out and asked for an autograph."
